Honest Trailers Meets Dorothy: Locked & Loaded

Author Note: I’m always trying to come up with new ideas — not to promote my writing or market it, so to speak, but to have fun with the content. I enjoy doing all this, and I hope you enjoy it, too.

The other day, it hit me that I should do something familiar, something many people have seen online on YouTube — Honest Trailers. (If you haven’t seen an Honest Trailer, you are missing out.) Why not create an Honest Trailer for my own story? And so, with a bit of help from ChatGPT, who took my notes and fashioned the script, and ElevenLabs, a text-to-voice application with tons of really cool voices, I put this thing together and am dropping it here for you today.

Reminder: Every episode of Dorothy: Locked & Loaded will be free to read — the stuff that’s posted on Substack, which you can read a few episodes at a time, as well as the content that’s posted here on my website, SJ Stone, Author, where you will be able to binge read. (I must admit that I loved the presentation on the website; see the screenshot below.)

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The first 20 episodes are available now on this website, and each weekend, I’ll add another five or more. There are 150 episodes in all, and I’ll be posting all the episodes for the rest of the year on Substack or at least teasing some of them with videos, audio, and other kinds of posts. You can always just go to the website and start binging. I’m going to work as hard as I can to make it easy to navigate the page as the year goes on.
